Yuu Boku, birthname Sen, is the current 10th King of Zhao. He was officially appointed as king Tou Jou's successor before his death, despite being the youngest sibling of his children.[1] He is currently the acting monarch of Zhao, although the real political power being wielded by Prime Minister Kaku Kai and their faction.
Appearance[]
Yu Boku is a young man that greatly resembles his father in appearance. He has black hair, slim, slander built, small eyes and black lips.
Personality[]
Like his late father, Yuu Boku exhibits a sadistic nature, shown through his possession of numerous bound slaves, whom he forces to perform demeaning tasks, often resulting in unnecessary suffering. Despite his depravity, the young king of Zhao is rational enough to recognize the importance of Ri Boku's military strategies against Qin’s invasion.
He understands that if Ri Boku were to lose, he himself would likely be overthrown by Qin. As a result, he allows Ri Boku to freely execute Zhao’s military plans, in contrast to his late father's tendency to meddle with and sabotage Ri Boku’s strategies due to petty prejudices.
Though Yuu Boku is just as hedonistic as his father and shows no interest in politics or the well-being of those he deems beneath him, he is firm in rejecting any lectures on these matters. He warns Ri Boku not to lecture him on his morals, threatening to cut off the General's tongue if he dares to do so again. He also indulges in personal pleasures, such as licking Kaine’s hand, before Ri Boku reminds him of her significance as a commander.
Story[]
Zhao Crisis Arc[]
Prince Yuu Boku or Sen, before being renamed was present at the royal palace when the bureaucrat Ei proclaimed the late King Tou Jou's last will and decree, announcing the removal of Prince Ka from the line of succession and appointing his youngest son himself into the official heir apparent.[2] Later, when the entire state of Zhao was reeling from the news that Qin's Six Great Generals was reinstated, Yuu Boku merely expressed an amused smile.[3]
Battle of Eikyuu Arc[]
Zhao's Retaliation Arc[]
In Kantan, as Ri Boku, his vassals, and the generals of the Shi Ba Shou Army are engaged in a war council, Yuu Boku pays them an unexpected visit while passing by. Aware of their disdain for him, Yuu Boku tells them to relax, but Ri Boku denies any contempt. The young king brushes off his flattery and, upon noticing Kaine, he proceeds to lick her hand in a display of perverse interest. Ri Boku intervenes, reminding him that she is an important officer in his army and asks him to refrain from going further.
Yuu Boku acknowledges the support his brother, Ka, has received in regard to his claim to the throne, but he holds no ill will toward Ri Boku. He claims that Ri Boku's existence doesn’t even matter to him, and that he is solely focused on reaching a level of "pleasure" that surpasses what his late father, Tou Jou, ever experienced.
He assures Ri Boku that he will not interfere with his plans. When Ri Boku offers advice, suggesting that a king should be devoted to their country, Yuu Boku dismisses it and warns the Great General that should he speak again on such matters, he will carve out his tongue.
The young king then delivers a brief speech to the present officers, instructing them to focus solely on the battle ahead. He asserts that regardless of their origin, soldiers should use whatever resources they have at their disposal. After all, he claims, the duration of his reign of "pleasure" hinges on their actions.
Days later, after hearing of Ri Boku's victories against Qin and Kan Ki's armies in the Battle of Gian and Battle of Hika, Yuu Boku expresses slight disappointment, not being able to desecrate Kan Ki's corpse as he had hoped. Instead, he indulges in torturing and raping one of his slaves, all while in a meeting with Kaku Kai.
