Yoko Yoko is a commander in the Qin Military. He leads the former Han Army,[1] which is currently attached to the Hi Shin Unit[2] following Qin's conquest of Han. He was formerly the adjutant of the late Han Great General Raku'A Kan and overall a high-ranking commander in the now defunct Han Military.[3]
Appearance[]
Yoko Yoko is a gigantic man. He constantly wears a large round helmet that covers his entire head except for his eyes. His imposing stature intimidates most soldiers, both allies and enemies, and Shin declared that his mere presence inspires fear, claiming that he was even taller than Mou Bu. Beneath his helmet, he reveals blond hair and a warrior's face covered in scars.
Before the State of Han was absorbed by Qin, the other commanders, even the generals, were intimidated by his size and massive build.[4]
Personality[]
Yoko Yoko is a stoic man who rarely speaks. However, on the battlefield, his berserker nature transforms him into a terrifying killing machine. In this state, he displays a frightening ferocity that instills fear in enemy soldiers. However, in comparison to other "berserkers" like Zenou and Ran Bi Haku, Yoko displays notable intelligence and instinct, allowing him to act with great efficiency even while rampaging.[3]
History[]
In the past, Yoko Yoko's old lineage resulted in a bounty placed on his head by the forces of two fallen nations. He lost everything but his family due to this and had nowhere to go. It was then that he met Raku'A Kan, who helped him and his family, and eventually provided a fine grave for his deceased wife and son. To repay this debt, Yoko Yoko decided to serve under him.[3]
Story[]
Battle of Eikyuu Arc[]
In 234 B.C., Qin announces the revival of its Six Great Generals, causing widespread panic across the continent.[5] Many military and court officials convene at Han's court, including Yoko Yoko.[4]
Nature of Humanity Arc[]
With the hopes of benefiting from the expertise in law of Kan Pishi, renowned legalist and member of Han's royal family, Qin sends a special delegation to Shintei, Han's capital. "Six Greats" Tou and Generals Roku O Mi and Ri Shin are sent as part of the envoy for the delegation, and the envoy is received by Great General Raku'A Kan, First General of Han, and his men, including Yoko Yoko, his adjutant. While Raku'A Kan accompanies Tou through Shintei, Yoko Yoko accompanies Roku O Mi.[6]
Later, Qin's delegate Kai Oku speaks in Shintei's court of Ei Sei's wish to invite Kan Pi Shi back to Kanyou. His words are observed by many, including Yoko Yoko.[7] After Kan Pi Shi agrees to return back to Kanyou with Qin's delegation, Yoko Yoko accompanies Raku'A Kan in seeing the Kan Pi Shi and the Qin envoy off.[8]
Three Pillars Arc[]
When Qin General Ri Shin first hears of his assignment to destroy Han, he thinks of the people he encountered during his previous visit to Shintei as part of an envoy, including Yoko Yoko.[9]
Yoko Yoko is seen in Han's royal court, where officials react to the news of an army of Qin setting out, indicating the beginning of an invasion of Han by Qin to conquer them.[10] Upon hearing the news that 60,000 Qin soldiers were at the Mai Plains, Yoko Yoko comments about how unexpectedly slow they were. A later report announces that 100,000 more Qin soldiers had been spotted, and Yoko Yoko reminds Raku'A Kan that they would make it with time to spare if they left for Nanyou.
He also suggests that their lack of speed is because the Qin soldiers were untrained, and that hastily made armies like the Qin's were weaker than their numbers would apply. Later, Raku'A Kan suggests that Shintei send out 50,000 soldiers from Shintei itself and 5,000 soldiers from the other castles, and head to Nanyou with 100,000 men to reinforce Nanyou. Yoko Yoko supports Raku'A Kan and points out that they would have 170,000 men to Qin's then-160,000 men.[11]
Conquest of Han Arc[]
In 230 B.C., the 17th year of Qin king Ei Sei's reign, the Qin forces stationed at Nanyou move out towards Shintei. Shintei prepares their readied forces to move out, but before Generals Raku'A Kan and Haku'ou Koku set out, Han's court receives news that several castles had sent less reinforcements than they had pledged. While court officials worry about the reduction in forces, Yoko Yoko points out that all the castles that seemed to be refraining from fighting are all in the vicinity of Nanyou.[12] Han's commanders set out in spite of the reduced reinforcements, including Yoko Yoko who moves with Raku'A Kan.[13]
The two forces eventually clash at Eitei Plains, and Yoko Yoko expresses contentment at the morale raised by Haku'ou Koku.[14] Soon after, battle begins, and Yoko Yoko quickly makes his way to assist Haku'ou Koku, who had set out and succeeded in drawing Ri Shin out. Yoko Yoko catches Ga Ro off guard and sends him flying into Qin forces, then clashes directly with Ri Shin and knocks him and his horse back with a single blow, despite Shin successfully parrying it.[15] Shin recovers and the two proceed to trade a flurry of blows, with Shin eventually finding an opening to strike and send Yoko Yoko reeling, forcing him to stabilize him and his steed with his glaive. The exchange amuses Yoko Yoko, and he instructs his archers to back off, although they ignore his orders and forcibly demount Shin.[16] Yoko Yoko and Haku'ou Koku eventually surround Shin and engage him together, though they are unable to finish him off. Wary of getting surrounded, both commanders call for their men to kill Shin, but Shin manages to hold out long enough for his men to come to his assistance.[17] Den Ei and Hai Rou engage Yoko Yoko, who comments that the two seemed to be looking down on him despite merely being retainers. Yoko Yoko continues cutting through swathes of Qin soldiers, while looking for openings to attack Den Ei and Hai Rou, and eventually manages to strike Hai Rou in the head. Right as he swings to kill Hai Rou, his sees an arrow land in his arm, and reacts quickly enough to deflect a second with his glaive. Yoko Yoko continues defending against the Hi Shin Unit's barrage[18] until he sees Ri Shin cut down Haku'ou Koku.[19] Seeing enemy reinforcements arriving,[20] Yoko Yoko decides to retreat and arrives just in time to defend Raku'A Kan, who had been locked into a battle with Tou, from a strike from behind by Roku O Mi.[21] There, both sides momentarily step back to regroup, and Yoko Yoko takes the chance to inform Raku'A Kan of Haku'ou Koku's defeat to Ri Shin and apologize. He shares his opinion that the left would soon collapse onto them, and that Raku'A Kan should keep calm and retreat. Yoko Yoko acts as the rear guard, and the Han army retreat.[22]
The fight moves to the Tousa Plains, where the Han Army is defeated within a single day,[23] and Yoko Yoko advises Raku'A Kan to retreat, for the second day in a row.[24] The Han army retreat to Shintei, where they prepare for a siege. There, after learning of the current state of the court, Yoko Yoko comments that Han's Public Order Protection Army gaining power would have them come out from the shadows without doing anything good, and that the Chancellor had chosen not to to anything despite being questioned by Raku'A Kan.[25]
Yoko Yoko and Raku'A Kan observe the Qin army approaching from the west wall when a bell rings throughout the city.[26] They initially are unaware of the meaning of the bell, but soon learn from messengers that Han had surrendered[27] and descend from their walls to prepare to engage the Qin army who had moved towards them from inside Shintei itself.[28] Yoko Yoko watches as Raku'A Kan makes the decision to lead his army out of the city without a fight, together with the cooperation of Tou to let them through.[29] Yoko Yoko approaches Raku'A Kan to ask that he be the one to led their men to Ran Castle, but Raku'A Kan insists that Yoko Yoko remain and guide the Han soldiers down the difficult path ahead. Yoko Yoko takes off his helmet and exchanges a final farewell with Raku'A Kan, then wishes him good fortune in battle and remains to carry out Raku'A Kan's wishes.[3]
TBA Arc[]
In preparation for the upcoming war with Zhao, and with the wishes of the late Raku'A Kan, Yoko Yoko is made commander of the army comprised of the soldiers of the former state of Han. As the troops gather in preparation to depart from Shintei, Yoko Yoko takes a look around at the Qin flags raised all throughout the ranks of the soldiers. Shin calls over to Yoko Yoko and asks him if he is mentally prepared. After a pause, Yoko Yoko raises his glaive and responds that he was ready, inspiring his men, the former soldiers of Han, to loudly cheer the name of General Ri Shin.[1]
Abilities[]
Yoko Yoko is an incredibly strong warrior whose martial prowess is exceptional. The most powerful soldier in the Han army, he was considered their ultimate weapon for turning the tide of battle. [1]
Physical Abilities[]
Immense Strength: Yoko Yoko possesses immense brute strength and colossal physical power, described by Raku'A Kan, First General of Han, as being the strongest man in the Han army.[15] He is a monster of brutality capable of annihilating entire units single-handedly in a matter of seconds. He pierces the enemy lines with such ferocity that even the enemy soldiers and their horses are thrown through the air, Shin would even compare his strength to Wei's Fire Dragon Gai Mou.[15]
Guandao Mastery: Yoko Yoko wields his mace with monstrous strength. With a single blow, he felled Ga Ro and managed to overwhelm Shin thanks to the power of his strikes and his incredible dexterity. Kyou Kai declares that even if all the strongest members of the Hi Shin Unit attacked him simultaneously, they wouldn't stand a chance against him.
Leadership[]
Yoko Yoko was a skilled unit leader, able to lead his men with great efficiency and inspire immense fighting spirit in them. He led the elite unit of the Raku'A Kan army, considered the most powerful in the Han state. [1]
Tactical Abilities[]
Yoko Yoko demonstrates an excellent understanding of military tactics. Like Duke Hyou, his exceptional instincts allow him to sense danger and act with impressive responsiveness, even in the heat of a melee. Thanks to this extremely sharp instinct, he can detect and target the weak points of enemy formations in the heat of battle, altering his trajectory to strike them with formidable effectiveness. His immense strength, combined with his unit's firepower, allows him to inflict devastating damage on the enemy ranks. He quickly realized that the new army created by Qin was much less powerful than it appeared and that the 100,000 soldiers who composed it lacked training.
