The State of Yan, (燕, Yān), is located in the north-eastern border of China. Its capital city is Kei.
History[]
40 years prior to the story, the state was on the verge of extinction from encroaching Qi forces, but the tide was turned by the "Military God" Gaku Ki and Geki Shin, who pushed them out of Yan territory.
Gaku Ki would later lead a coalition army against Qi in retaliation for their attack on Yan.

In 242 BC, Great General Geki Shin is defeated by Zhao General Hou Ken who captures 20,000 Yan soldiers as prisoners.

According to Ten, "Out of all the states in China, Yan could be considered the one that holds the most mysteries".
Until recently there was a small mountain kingdom by the name of Chuuzan located at the entrance between Yan and the rest of China. It appears in the past, Qin would often have their communications cut off there. While it is unknown for a small kingdom like that happened to exist there but there have been unsavory rumors that Yan has colluded with the various steppe tribes to the north and east. There has not been a single battle between Qin and Yan in the last few decades. Hence, the majority of Yan's military strength and their generals are unknown to Qin.

The state has a monarchy, and the current king of Yan is King Ki. The former king, King Sho, rebuilt his kingdom by following the advice of Guo Wei which helped in attracting talented men such as Gaku Ki and Geki Shin, bringing it back from the brink of destruction.
