Wa Tegi was the Duke of a small Qin territory of Juuteki and the leader of the Juuteki Tribe. He joined the State of Ai Rebellion.

Appearance[]

Wa Tegi was a tall muscular man with a handlebar mustache and a long goatee. Like other members of the Juuteki Tribe, he has markings on his face.

Personality[]

Wa Tegi possesses deep hate for the state of Qin and a vicious resentment towards its people. He joined Ai's rebellions' solely for the opportunity to avenge his ancestor's defeat and the bitter humiliation they faced afterwards. He was ruthless as he had no qualms in killing war prisoners, civilians, and executing any soldiers that questioned him. However despite his cruelty, Wa Tegi was a courageous warrior as he lead his tribe from the frontlines and showed no fear by directly challenging Shou Hei Kun himself.

History[]

Juuteki was a small, independent kingdom 100 years ago before being annexed by Qin. They were just an extra handful of tribesmen for Qin, but for them, it was far from that. All this time they waited. Accumulating power on one hand and sharpening their claws on the other hand. Their betrayal of Kanyou was just a double payback for what their grandfathers had to endure, for the Qin were the ones who struck first.

Story[]

State of Ai Arc[]

Wa Tegi, the Duke of Juuteki joined the Ai Army as he saw it as the perfect opportunity to get revenge for the humiliations his forefathers had suffered over a century ago after bein defeated and conquered by the state of Qin. He personally led the siege of Kanyou, and would probably had been successful, had the siege not been broken in its last moments by none other than Shou Hei Kun and a thousand of his elite cavalrymen, who had recently switched sides, abandoning Ryo Fui's faction.

During the siege, Wa Tegi was commanding the army from a protected position in the rear - but that soon turned out to be a disadvantage, as Shou Hei Kun's cavalry attacked from the back at a critical point in time. As the Qin cavalry advanced towards the leadership of the besiegers, Ka Ryo Ten understood that her sensei intended to use a tactic known as the Hourai. As such, she ordered the men under her leadership to abandon their formations to create a human barrier so that the enemy commander could not escape their reinforcements, who were closing in on them.

The Juuteki tried to slow down Shou Hei Kun's charge by attacking his formations from the flank, but their own cavalry led by Noko was blocked by Kou Ryuu's men in the right flank, and blocked by Hyou Shiga's men in the left, where they were led by Hamui. Facing this scenario, the Duke used the only option he had left and tried to pierce the Hourai by charging head on against the incoming cavalry. He ordered his officers to survive and tell their tale to the future generations of the Juuteki people, so that they could stoke the flames of rebellion so they could be avenged, some day.

As the Duke was considered the strongest member of his people, he reasoned that, if only he could survive the initial clash, he would certainly manage to escape in the sea of his troops, that were frantically following in the wake of Shou Hei Kun's cavalry. However, that was not meant to be, as the Duke went against Shou Hei Kun himself during the charge, who made quick work of him.

By targeting the Duke's right arm from the start, Shou Hei Kun removed it, right before he chopped off the Duke's head. Wa Tegi's last thoughts on acknowledging what a true monster Shou Hei Kun was - not only judging by his wits, but also by his martiel ability as well.

Wa Tegi was a capable military leader, as he served as de facto Commander-in-Chief while Han O Ki went inside the castle during the Siege of Kanyou.

Physical Abilities[]

Wa Tegi was a powerful warrior, since it is a custom of the Juuteki Tribe to elect the strongest of them as a leader. He showed a proficiency with a glaive, however, his quick defeat at the hands of Shou Hei Kun displayed the latter's military might.

Leadership[]

Wa Tegi was an inspiring leader to his men, and commanded them efficiently. His personal cavalry unit was shown to be quick and ruthless, as he was able to reach the river shores and secure them with little effort. His soldiers were noted to be trained extremely well both individually and in group based tactics, which is not something that can be easily achieved.

Tactical Abilities[]

Wa Tegi possessed good tactical insight. He was quick to evaluate the ever changing tactical situations, and reacted to them efficiently. Even when he was surprised, the Duke did all that he could do in order to escape his predicament and was able to see the weakness of enemy's Hourai formation. He wasn't however, on par with the likes of Shou Hei Kun and that proved to be his ultimate demise.
