Zhao's Retaliation Arc[]
Amongst Qin's continued invasions into northern Zhao, the Den Ri Mi Army is tasked with capturing Bujou castle to wrestle it from Zhao's hands. San Shuu is seen rallying the Den Ri Mi soldiers as they climb the walls with the Qin commander boasting of their lord's power, however, he is suddenly hit by an arrow while amid his speech by a Zhao archer.
San Shuu's soldiers showed their worries as one of them had told him not to stand on the top of the wall earlier. As he nearly falls, San Shuu stands proud as he continues his rallying cries while being hit by more arrows.
Later on, they are successful in opening the gates and the Sou'Ou Army led by the General himself alongside Shi Ryou charge in, the combined Ou Sen forces slowly and eventually conquer the entire city in a day. San Shu, filled with arrow wounds, declares victory on top of a building with nearby Qin soldiers amazed at how he isn't dead.[2]
Hango Campaign Arc[]
San Shuu is once again with the Den Ri Mi Army during the Battle of Hango. In the opening battle with the Ji Aga Army, he is one of the three "killing strokes" of the army alongside Shin Kaku Gaku Duke Da Rin, his fellow commanders, and their general Den Ri Mi.
The three are assigned by the strategist to kill Zhao General Ji Aga, the martial might of the Seika Army with the duke and Shin Kaku Gaku managing to wound the monstrous Zhao General and San Shuu surviving one of Ji Aga's strikes from his mace, which shatters his spear.[3]
After Shi Ba Shou's sudden appearance upsets the entire battle to the Zhao's favor, San Shuu attacks Kan Saro alongside Shin Kaku Gaku sometime later to give the Sou'Ou Army and the remaining Den Ri Army time to return to Great General Ou Sen's HQ and prevent the Zhao Great Heaven from killing their Commander-in-Chief.
After Shi Ryou kills Ji Aga at the near cost of her life, Shin Kaku Gaku attempts to kill Kan Saro but only manages to wound the Zhao General as he curses his luck and is instantly cut down. Kan Saro then turns and severely cuts through San Shuu's stomach, knocking him off his horse, while his soldiers cry out.[4]
Three Pillars Arc[]
San Shuu, as per his epithet of "Immortal", turns up alive and manages to walk back to the Ou Sen Army garrisoned at Atsuyo, a few days after the defeat at the Battle of Hango. This shocks all of those who met him.[5]
