Raigoku (eng. Prison of Thunder) is a tacticial maneuver created by Gyou’un and the late Rin Shou Jo in order to slay high priority targets, such as the Six Great Generals of Qin.

Overview[]

By combining the strength of Gyou'un and Ten Spears, the most powerful soldiers of the elite Rai'un Unit, the Raigoku creates an encirclement around its target, effectively separating the enemy commander from his or hers’ troops in order to attack them from mulitple directions. Usually Gyou'un attacks from the front while the target finds themselves surrounded from all sides by the Ten Spears, thus stuck in a deadly trap.

This tactic was originally developed by Gyou'un and his master Rin Shou Jo to kill the Six Great Generals of Qin, but they never got the chance to unleash it against them due to Rin Shou Jo's early death by illness. However, the Raigoku has shown itself to incredibly effective as it took the lives of several other General class and Great General class opponents from various enemy states. The only known individual who was able to survive its embrace is Ou Hon, the leader of the Gyoku Hou Unit.

Strengths & Weaknesses[]

Thanks to the combined strengths of Gyou'un and his Ten Spears it is extremely difficult to break the Raigoku, even for the most skilled fighters, to do it alone would be nearly impossible. The continuous assault from different angles makes it almost impossible for the target to go on the offensive without getting support from his allies. The only known method of escaping the Raigoku is attacking a single point of the formation, from both the inside and outside of the encirclement at the same time - a maneuver that was demonstrated when Kan Jou and Ou Hon coordinately created an escape route though with much difficulty.
