Ou Ki (Formerly)

Ou Ki's Glaive was the personal weapon that the late Great General Ou Ki used in his entire military career to his early days as a member of the Six Great Generals to the final day of his death. Having grown fond of Shin and in recognition of his talent and potential, the general passed on his weapon to him.

Story[]

To prepare himself to wield the late Great General's Glaive, in the three years following the Coalition's Invasion, Shin trained himself in wielding glaives, where he compensated for his lack of skill with a glaive with his powerful strength. At this time, with a single swing of his glaive, Shin could decimate entire cavalries and infantry soldiers. However, with his strength growing with every battle, normal glaives could no longer withstand Shin’s strength. As a result, Shin chose to take up Ou Ki’s Glaive from Sei's care, who has been wielding it since around the start of the Gyou Campaign

Season 1's Episode 38[]

In the 38th last episode of Season 1, you can see in the end scene where Shin talks to Sei about how he inherited the glaive. But he finds it too heavy to use and how he wants Sei to hold on to it until he is ready to wield it. Sei then decides to tell Shin about what Ou Ki told him about King Sho's final message and Ou Ki's dream of aiming for a unified China. He then says that with Ou Ki gone that dream is impossible now. But Shin disagrees and clearly states that it was he who inherited his weapon and says that Ou Ki entrusted China to him and the lance to Shin and asks Ei Sei if he knows what specifically means. Sei then realizes the meaning and symbolism of it which makes them bound to each other "The King and The Sword", where Shin replaced Ou Ki as the king's personal sword in their goal of a unified China and how they are going to be China's only king and sword.

Later in Chapter 286 during the Coalition's Invasion of Qin, where Shin yells out to Man Goku why the killing and the quest for revenge must stop also strengthens the anime scene's message and the meaning of the entire story itself "And I will be the unbreakable sword of his will."

Trivia[]

  • Gyou’un considered it to be a jewel amongst weapons.
  • Shin was to perfectly replicate General Ou Ki's deadly finishing Slash during his very short Shin vs. Gaku'Ei duel with the lone-wolf Zhao general Gaku'Ei instantly bisecting the large man in the blink of an eye.
