Kingdom IV: Return of the Genera is the fourth movie of the theatrical movie trilogy, originally that is scheduled for the July 12, 2024. The movie will be produced by Toho, it features the final events of the Escape from Zhao Arc and the second half of Battle of Bayou Arc.

Synopsis[]

Still set in the "Battle of Bayou," the ovie depicts the outcome of the fierce final battle between the Qin and Zhao armies on a grand scale, along with the hero Shin's exploits.

The film starring Kento Yamazaki opened in 532 theaters across Japan on July 12, earning 2,203,455,700 yen (13.91 million USD) on 1,467,002 admissions in its first four days from Friday to Monday.[1]

The opening was 181 percent of that of the previous third installment, Kingdom III: Flame of Destiny released in July 2023. Its first-three-day gross was not only the highest in the Kingdom live-action film series, but also the highest opening record in the history of Japanese live-action films, making it a blockbuster hit with box-office revenue of 10 billion yen in sight.[2]

After 21 days, the number of admissions was 3.41 million, and the box office revenue exceeded 5.05 billion yen.[4]

Four consecutive works in the series exceed 5 billion yen in box office revenue making Kingdom the Reiwa era No.1 Japanese movie live-action series (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha).[5]

After 43 days, the number of admissions was 4.77 million, and the box office revenue exceeded 7 billion yen.[6]

After 118 days, the box office revenue exceeded 7.977 billion yen (estimated), many theaters will end their screenings after today.[7]

After 126 days, the number of admissions was 5.43 million, and the box office revenue exceeded 7,99 billion yen.[8]
