Kaku Kai is the current Prime Minister of Zhao and the advisor to the 10th King of Zhao, Yuu Boku in the Zhao courts as he once did for his late father king, Tou Jou[1] He is the political archenemy of Ri Boku and the Great Hevean's greatest obstacle in the courts of Zhao.
Appearance[]
Kaku Kai is an overweight man in his 50s. He wears flashy silky made clothing befitting his position and very expensive jewelry, all treats of his wealthy lifestyle. He has a thin mustache, a small pointy goatee and a devilish graying haircut and his facial expressions reflect his cunning nature.
Personality[]
Kaku Kai, at first, came off as being proud and jealous towards more popular politicians or those he considers threats to his position, particularly towards Ri Boku. When Ri Boku was imprisoned for his failure in preventing the fall of Gyou, Kaku Kai had asked if the former prime minister had any final words for his vassals before his execution. After hearing them, Kaku Kai simply smiled to himself as he wasn't going to honor the request and broke his attendant for showing sympathy to the imprisoned great general. This was a clear sign that Kaku Kai was just as sadistically cruel as his king only to a certain extent. He is also a dangerously cunning man who can be incredibly deceptive as he is armed with years of political maneuvering. This was on full displayed as he did his very best to ensured Ri Boku was assassinated to secure his political status as the highest-ranking official in Zhao and showed thorough ruthlessness as he massacred all the wise and capable ministers and supporters of Prince Ka immediately after learning that the late Tou Jou had made his son, Yuu Boku the official heir to the throne. But he is also pragmatic, as he didn't hesitate to use Ri Boku’s brilliant advice and ideas in politics for himself and in the face of Qin invasion, with Kan Ki’s overwhelming victory over the Ko Chou Army, Kaku Kai begrudgingly sought Ri Boku’s help once again, though was extremely frustrated to do so. Especially after Ri Boku’s victory against Kan Ki which immensely increased his popularity with Zhao's citizens, he is still very irritated with the results, even though Ri Boku had helped secured his status and authority even more.
History[]
At some point in the past, Kaku Kai met a young Ryo Fui, while the former was still a merchant in the state of Zhao. From then on, Kaku Kai managed to raise his political influence, which earned him a place among the high-ranking officials in Zhao.

Important Character |
The current prime minister of Zhao, Kaku Kai is a man of great influence with the respect and control of the Zhao courts with all the privileges that come with it. His political value is so high, that he was able to spread his connections outside the state of Zhao, forging diplomatic bonds with the former Qin Chancellor of state, Ryo Fui.
Politics[]
Kaku Kai is an extremely dangerous and cunning politician. The full scope of his ability is shown when he weakened Ri Boku's influences in the Zhao Military after the failure with the Coalition Army, he exploited the Great Heaven's absence as he strengthen and spread his own influence in the courts, to the point of eventually becoming the previous Zhao King, Tou Jou's closet advisor. Later doing the same with the current king, Yuu Boku. He also skillfully outplayed both Prince Ka and Ri Boku by using the late king Tou Jou’s posthumous decree to crown Prince Sen following Ri Boku’s release from prison. And effortfully assassinated any future political enemies influenced by them as he wiped out Ka's supporters and their entire families in a single night and nearly killed Ka and Ri Boku with multiple assassination attempts, thereby collapsing whatever political and martial might the prince could have mustered to maintain his power in Kantan. After the loss of Great General Ko Chou, Kaku Kai realized that if Ren Pa did return to Zhao the old Great General would mostly likely find faults with the current king as he did with the previous and probably turn his blade towards the officials that support him.
