Kai Oku is Shou Hei Kun's right hand and a commander in his lord's army. He also a lecturer at Qin's Strategist Academy and the former teacher of Ka Ryo Ten and Mou Ki. In addition to teaching as a lecturer, he is also a capable tactician, capable of personally participating in battle and fighting. He is also a skilled diplomat, having been sent to the Han Kingdom as the head of a delegation. Kai Oku personally took part in the battle for the city of Sai and the Qin campaign to capture the city of Gyou.
Appearance[]
Kai Oku has long black hair divided in two ponytails and a long goatee. He is always seen with a grim smile on his face. He is consistently show wearing elaborate robes (whether it be over armor on the battlefield or in peacetime).
Personality[]
Kai Oku is a dutifully man with a robust personality. He is unflinching loyal towards his lord, Shou Hei Kun. Aside from this he enjoys teasing people from his interactions with both Mou Ki and Ten.
History[]
At some point in the past, he joined Shou Hei Kun's academy of strategist and managed to become one of his trusted vassals.
Story[]
Coalition Invasion Arc[]
Kai Oku is first seen in the palace with other officials as they monitored the situation of the war. After receiving reports of attacks in Bu Pass, Shou Hei Kun orders him go to Naifu with 1000 soldiers to find out what was going on. However, seconds after, a report came inform them that Naifu had already fallen.
When Ei Sei decided to make his stand in the city of Sai, Shou Hei Kun sent Kai Oku with close to 100 of his personal vassals to assist the king and allies. To scatter as their forces saw fit. Of them were 50 or so officers capable of leading. To the amazement of the commanding officers. When Ka Ryo Ten saw him, she was astonished. Then Mou Ki showed up along with Koua and Kin Ryou. When Ten started to weep, Kai Oku told her not to. Because her tears were best suited for when they emerged victorious from the battle, or when she first knew the body of a man. He later teases her that she should be wary of Mou Ki while receiving an annoyed remark from Mou Ki while an annoyed Ten tells him that it was not the time to be messing around.
State of Ai Arc[]
Kai Oku was sent to Sanyou City by Shou Hei Kun. His objective was to quell any unrest within the army and to discover if there were any plots from the Queen Mother and Rou Ai. He later returns to Kanyou with his master to help quell the uprising.
Western Zhao Invasion Arc[]
Kai Oku was one of the four heads in the high command HQ that planned for the Gyou campaign strategy alongside Shou Hei Kun, Shou Bun Kun, and Mou Ki. He also present when Shin, Ten, Ou Hon, and Mou Ten were summoned to the Kanyou. Later he led the fake supply force and briefly engaged Shun Sui Ju in battle.
Nature of Humanity Arc[]
Kai Oku is sent to Shintei, the capital of Han, with the diplomatic delegation. Arriving at the royal palace and standing directly in front of the Han king, he quickly and steadfastly introduced himself and showed respect. A slight misunderstanding occurred during the conversation. King Ou An expressed a desire to form an alliance between the kingdoms, while Kai Oku, on the contrary, explained that their goal was to invite Kan Pishi to the Kingdom of Qin. During the conversation, the tension grew and Kai Oku had to intimidate the Han by saying that they had equipped them with many carts with valuable gifts and if the Han set such weighty conditions after this, then this tramples on the honor of the Qin kingdom and in order to return it, they might be forced not only to abandon the suz but also to attack the Han. These words compelled the advisor to recommend that the king invite Kan Pishi to the discussion in person, which he ordered. However, the situation escalated further because Kan Pishi, completely unguarded in his words, made rude and unscrupulous remarks about the Qin kingdom and its ruler. Ultimately, thanks to Ri Shin's fiery speech, the conflict came to an end and Kan Pishi, hearing him, agreed to go to the kingdom of Qin.

As Shou Hei Kun's trusted right-hand man, Kai Oku is a talented and capable military commander. Before the Battle of Sai began, his lord entrusted him with leading nearly 100 elite soldiers to reinforce Sai, aiding Ei Sei and bolstering the city's defenses—an acknowledgment of his military prowess.
Physical Abilities[]
Kai Oku is adept in the usage of a glaive as shown in the battlefield. He was able to engage Shun Sui Ju in battle briefly without any serious injuries.

During the Battle of Sai, Kai Oku commanded the north wall, swiftly identifying the most vulnerable points and deploying reinforcements whenever possible. Later, he became one of the four key strategists in the tactical headquarters, contributing to the planning of the Gyou campaign.
