Manga Debut Chapter 517

Ka is the crown prince of Zhao and, possibly, the firstborn son of Tou Jou, the previous 9th king of Zhao.

Appearance[]

Ka is a young man, with black hair, worried black eyes and dressed in royal robes.

Personality[]

Ka is a kind, compassionate and respectful prince, who is the alter ego of his father's tyrannical and cruel personality. Ka is very kind and patient towards Ri Boku whilst describing his arrival and the Gyou's conditions about the locusts.

History[]

Story[]

Western Zhao Invasion Arc[]

Ka is first seen in the Royal Palace as he meets with Ri Boku and Kaine who are about to depart to the battlefield. The prince apologizes to the Great Heaven for his father, but Ri Boku tells Ka to think nothing of it.

Zhao Crisis Arc[]

Ka, with tears in eyes, begged his father, Tou Jou not to punish Ri Boku with the death penalty and instead give him a lighter sentence. His father, however, bit and cut off his right ear in response while hugging. The Zhao king told the palace guards to take him away.[1] Half a day before Tou Jou's assassination, the king had order Ei to write his last will and decree to paper, which was to remove Ka from line of succession to the throne and be replaced by his youngest sibling, his brother Sen.[2]

Has the capacity of a wise ruler, but...

Ka is the crown prince of Zhao and Tou Jou's oldest son. Unlike his father, he is a compassionate leader and held a strong political influence and power in the Zhao courts. He is a wise king of the making, "night and day" compared to his father. Because of that, many politicians from Zhao including Ri Boku himself believe that Ka is the "shining light" of Zhao, and he will bring prosperity and good fortunes for their state's future.

Leadership[]

Unlike his father's tyrannical and cruel leadership, Ka is a brave and compassionate leader in his own right. He earned the respect from Zhao officials including Ri Boku. After his father's death, Ka assumed power and released many officials that were unjustly imprisoned and served as the backbone of Zhao. With that action alone, it greatly changed the Zhao court and military.

Tactical Abilities[]

Ka has a considerable tactical ability and military knowledge as he is aware of Ou Sen's locust strategy.
