The Tension After the Battle is the 700th chapter of the Kingdom manga.
Summary[]
Shin meets a depressed Sei and they move to some less depressing place. They ride on Shin's horse and Shin tells him about the Battle of Eikyuu and how he was able to conquer the natural fortress. He then apologizes that he couldn't stop Kan Ki's massacre. They talk about Kan Ki and how Sei can't pass judgement for his deeds due to his incredible victory, since they still need him to win. He worries that after such a big massacre people of Zhao will fight with a greater defiance and hate towards Qin. Shin calms him down by saying he fully intends to bring Zhao to ruin and that he knows the closer they will get the more they will feel their pain and anguish. Sei praises Shin for becoming stronger and his maturity.
Sei remembers the time sixteen years ago when he was smuggled from Kantan by the late black-market merchant, Shi Ka and how she gave her life to save him. Sei then mentions how close they are to conquering Zhao with eyes shining with ambition.
In the evening Na Ki visits Kan Ki Army's camp and joins his old comrades while they are having dinner and a small memorial for Rai Do. An angry Koku'Ou yells at him to leave while calling him a traitor, but Ma Ron calms her down. Na Ki explains why he came, because he heard about Rai Do's death and the massacre. He wanted to feel things out and see where Kan Ki's current mindset is at. He thinks they took it way too far. Ma Ron thinks this is Kan Ki's true nature and since Rai Do was the closest to him this was such a big deal. However, Na Ki corrects him that Saki Clan was the longest with Kan Ki. The rest of them however are unsure if this is true. Na Ki wonders if that's the case then why Kan Ki doesn't have any Saki Clan officers.
Meanwhile, Kan Ki lays in his bed sipping wine while an unnamed dark-haired woman with black flower tattoos starts and scars prepares to leave. While leaving the woman is shown dressing in the Saki Clan's clothing and their signature mask next to her implying that she is a member of the clan.
The next day, the Qin King Ei Sei stays on the frontlines for some time to thank the soldiers for their service and victory in winning their war. He later visits an injury Ou Hon who is still resting from his wounds. Sei tells Ou Hon about his children Rei and Fusu after hearing that he himself has recently become a father while also dismissing Shin from their conversation due his single status. Later, Sei leaves 30,000 soldiers in reinforcements to fill the gap of the ones that were lost by the Kan Ki Army and Gyoku Hou Army and returns to the capital. Meanwhile a messenger enters the gates of Seika city with an urgent news from Kantan.

- This chapter marks the first time that a member of the Saki Clan is seen without their hooded mask. A woman with black petal tattoos and scars that shares Kan Ki's bed, but it's unknown if she is Saki or just a member of the clan. Her name wouldn't be revealed till Chapter 729.
