Departures is the 484th chapter of the Kingdom manga.
Summary[]
Continuing their discussion, the night after winning the war, Shin is curious on who and what is Kan Ki. Na Ki explains that Kan Ki’s past is a mystery even to the close members of his upper echelon but he had heard of Kan Ki’s past from one of the oldest members of the Kan Ki Army. A member from the strange Saki Clan. The unnamed individual alluded to Na Ki that Kan Ki’s motivation is a Fury. A fury so hot that it can melt even stones. A fury against everything.
Back in Kanyou, High command receives the news and reports of the Hi Shin Unit's commander Shin defeating and killing Kei Sha. But the report also explains the conflict between the unit and the Kan Ki Army. Shou Hei Kun then ordered 10,000 to the frontlines to construct the fortress at the frontlines. With that, they plan to use Kokuyou Hills as a base to attack Western Zhao.
Back over at Kokuyou after the war, orders are passed down to Hi Shin Unit to construct fortresses at the western hill. Ten is unhappy with this but Shin stops her from escalating the matter further. Na Ki has returned to Kan Ki and Kan Ki’s whereabouts are unknown after the war. Shin and Kyou Kai reflect about the war.
While Kan Ki’s methods are inhuman, it resulted in an overwhelming victory. Kyou Kai thinks that if there is a need to stop Kan Ki, they themselves must stop him. Shin thinks that the only way is to climb to a higher position than him, to become a Great General before him.
While Kyou Kai thinks that it is impossible for Shin to become a Great General before him, Shin can still keep him in line if he is at the same rank and equal footing as him. As Bi Hei said, Shin should rise in rank at his own pace. Shin’s crime for going against Kan Ki was cancelled off by his achievement of killing Kei Sha. His quarrel with Kan Ki has united the Hi Shin Unit even more.
Meanwhile, swayed by Shin’s beliefs and impressed by his feats during the war, Na Ki request to permanently stay with the Hi Shin Unit. Kan Ki asked for his reason, and Na Ki replies that the reason is that Hi Shin Unit has got good food. Rai Do, enraged at Na Ki’s betrayal and disrespect to Kan Ki, orders his soldiers to kill him and his unit. Injured but alive, Na Ki and the Na Ki Unit are welcomed to the Hi Shin Unit.
Meanwhile at an unknown corner of Kokuyou, Ri Boku and his two new lieutenants are reviewing on the war. They drew up three conclusions: They underestimated Kan Ki and Shin. Found the hidden talent Zhao general, Ki Sui. And the discovery of Kan Ki’s supposed weakness.
