Summary

Thanks to the Battle of Sai, the Ei Sei Faction manages to not only get even but overtake the Ryo Fui Faction as they swale with influences and new connections.

In the Ryo Fui faction, Ri Shi is worried at this turn of events and baffled by the fact by Ryo Fui's strange behavior as the Chancellor doesn't seem concern at all.

A few days later, those that had went over to the Royal Faction's camp returned to Ryo Fui's camp, which further baffled Ri Shi. When he arrived at Ryo Fui's villa, he sees a lavish party is going on. Ryo Fui explained that he used his personal wealth to win back those officials that went over to the Royal Faction, because the officials, ministers, nobles, and even some from other states currently didn't have much money because of the war. He also tells Ri Shi that it was all preparation. Ryo Fui explained that the king has become a more important figure than expected, this time it wouldn't be anything like the assassination attempt on Ei Sei's life five years prior. Assassinating the king will not settle all their problems because the people would never accept him. So, he needs an "enormous ploy" in order to get the people to accept him that would be witnessed by the entire Qin kingdom. He further hints that his aim lies in the Coming of Age Ceremony in a year and a half that the entire kingdom will witness. Ryo Fui stated on that day he shall swallow the kingdom together with its king, leaving not a single crumb behind.
