Passion is the 235th chapter of the Kingdom manga.
Summary[]
Ren Pa and Mou Gou begin their duel as soldiers on opposing sides wait in nervous anticipation. Mou Gou's commanders honestly don’t believe their lord can win. Ren Pa, after musing about wishing to talk to someone, swings his glaive at Mou Gou, asking his old rival to show him what he meant. Surprisingly, Mou Gou's blade is already nearing Ren Pa's head. Dodging the attack, the Wei General succeeds in cutting Mou Gou's chest armor, drawing first blood. As his soldiers cry his name in panic, Mou Gou steadies himself to the relief of his subordinates. Ren Pa's strike was too shallow.
Mou Gou goads Ren Pa by saying it's a pity they both avoided mutual destruction. Ren Pa retorts with another powerful strike that knocks Mou Gou back. He wonders what a weaken Mou Gou can hope to achieve with his mediocre techniques. Gripping his bloody forehead, Mou Gou says what he's using isn't technique, it's heart. He fears Ren Pa, from his lifelong suffering of defeats. When he first heard Ren Pa was taking the field, Mou Gou thought the gods were unfair, that right before retirement, he would meet his nemesis. But after meeting Shin, he was inspired by the young man's words to win this round and keep running. In a way, Ren Pa's appearance was a blessing.
Mou Gou initiates the next attack. From the moment he left his homeland of Qi and rose to a great general in the west, everything was for this moment. Ren Pa easily blocks the attack but is blown away. Mou Gou asks Ren Pa how heavy a blow with forty years of passion feels, then claims there's nothing inside Ren Pa that can accept Mou Gou's blows of passion.
Elsewhere, Mou Ten and Shin are racing towards Mou Gou's headquarters. Mou Ten tells Shin to rest, which the latter refuses. When the duo finally reaches the summit, they find an empty headquarters. Mou Ten knows instinctively where the action is and rushes to the commotion. The two great generals are trading blow-for-blow to the amazement of the soldiers. While Ren Pa is wounding Mou Gou more, Mou Gou is blowing Ren Pa and horse away with each strike. The Qin commanders wonder if the old general's heavy strikes are from willpower, but perhaps the truth is from the start, Mou Gou is father to Qin's strongest general, Mou Bu. Perhaps Mou Gou physically stronger than Ren Pa.
Mou Gou passionately says Ren Pa's era has passed. The golden age and Ren Pa's flame had gone out with Six Great Generals of Qin. Another strike crushes Ren Pa's horse's legs and dismounts the former Zhao Great Heaven. With shocked onlookers, Mou Gou prepares to deliver the final blow.
