Bajio is also known as Blade of the Mountain King, is a commander in the Yo Tan Wa Army, the most powerful gathering of mountain tribesmen and warriors of the Western Mountain Confederation from the state of Qin’s western mountains. He serves as Yo Tan Wa’s right-hand man and most trusted second-in-command as well as the leader of the Chouga Tribe’s military.

Often called the strongest amongst Yo Tan Wa’s vassals, Bajio is the second most skilled warrior aside from the King of Death herself. As a child, Bajio’s entire tribe and family were annihilated in a passing conflict, and he was the sole survivor. Regressing into a feral mindset, Bajio became savage, animalistic child, however, he was able to find his humanity again after being defeated by a young Yo Tan Wa as she welcomed him into her family during the early days of the Chouga Tribe’s expansion into the western mountains.

Appearance

Bajio is a well built and tall man with long dark hair arranged in the back. He wears nothing but a cloth around his waist with his two big knives tacked at the back of his belt. His face is always hidden by a mask that has a circle around the right eye and on the left five marks in a circle pattern and five spikes coming from the top.

Personality

Bajio is a very serious man, but he is not biased towards Qin like some other mountain tribesmen of the Mountain Tribes are. Other than that, not much is yet known about Bajio aside from the fact that he is very loyal and obedient to Yo Tan Wa. It has been noted that he is.

History

Bajio was the only survivor of his tribe after a battle at a very young age. After a few years of living in the wild, he became a beast in human form and a man eater. This would lead to confrontation with the Chouga Tribe when they were conquering neighboring tribes. After losing a duel against Yo Tan Wa, she gave him the option of dying as a beast or becoming her companion. This led to him being accepted into her tribe and reclaiming his humanity. Over time Bajio was able to speak the words of a person again and soon learned multiple languages while becoming a powerful warrior. Bajio would soon become Yo Tan Wa's right hand and her most trusted comrade amongst the tribe.

Story

Sei Kyou's Rebellion Arc

Bajio first appeared when he was monitoring the movements of the Ei Sei Faction wandering in the mountain area near the Chouga's borders. He and his men meet Ei Sei's group and asked the young king to follow him, as his King wished to see him. During Sei's meeting with Yo Tan Wa, Bajio was silently watching the debut.

Once Yo Tan Wa accepted Sei's plea for help to reclaim his throne, Bajio was one of the elite warriors that participated in the assault. Once in Kanyou, rather than fighting against Sei Kyou's army, a detachment made of himself, Tajifu, Heki, Shin, and three other tribesmen head through a passage that led straight to the throne room, with the objective to attack the king's brother and the traitor politician, Ketsu Shi.

When they arrived at the throne room, they were faced against the beast, Ran Kai, Sei Kyou's bodyguard. Although Ran Kai was too overpowered, with the combining efforts of Bajio, Shin, and the rest of the mountain warriors, Ran Kai was finally defeated. Bajio took Ketsu Shi's head and carried it in the court so that everyone could see that their leader was dead.

Training Arc

After returning to the mountain realms, they've once again thrown themselves into battle. With the king of the mountain, Yo Tan Wa personally leading her forces, they've continued to defeat all their rivals, tribe after tribe. With that, her influence has steadily increased in size. As of now, most of the mountain lands to the west of Qin have fallen under her control. As Yo Tan Wa followed the mountain ranges north, they've started picking fights with the Kyoudo Horsemen Tribe that had long threatened Qin's northern borders.

Coalition Invasion Arc

While the coalition invasion in Qin was taking place, Bajio was on a campaign with the Yo Tan Wa Army against their biggest rival on the north, the Kabanko faction. Once news of Sei's plea for assistance reached them, they abandoned their campaign midway and set a course to Sai in order to answer it.

Bajio and the rest of the army arrived at Sai of the 7th day of the battle. They rushed the enemy with such force, that they managed to drive them away in a matter of hours. To secure the safe evacuation of the Zhao Army, general Shin Sei Jou was left behind with his unit, in order to stall the mountain warriors. Bajio confronted him and managed to kill him relatively easily.

Koku You Campaign Arc

Bajio along with the Yo Tan Wa Army took the Wei city of Eishi by surprise and capture it.

Western Zhao Invasion Arc

Bajio was first seen at Kanyou with Tajifu when Yo Tan Wa is announced as one of the three Generals for the campaign. Before the Battle of Ryouyou started he was seen talking with the Feego King before charging the Kou Son Ryuu led Ryouyou Army.

Battle of Ryouyou

Later that evening he was seen fighting evenly with Goba of the Quanrong Tribe from the Ryouyou City before Goba retreated. On the 0th day after the resources were burned by Zhao he was one of three army commanders appointed to destroy Quanrong armies facing Goba Army in battle. Bajio's army that was initially bucked under Goba's first wave, stood their ground and pushed their enemies thanks to Tajifu's unit. Bajio made progress against Goba, but the wise Quanrong commander commanded a retreat. Later the army of mountain men found themselves surrounded, but thanks to Yo Tan Wa's efforts they were able to escape. Ba Jio broke the encirclement and amputated Kou Son Ryuu's sword hand. Their forces were chased down during the night by the enemy and Yo Tan Wa barely survived the encounter however, with his feral instincts Bajio was able to defend his queen at the cost of suffering serious wounds. After the battle Shunmen said that Bajio died, but it was revealed to be a joke.

Hango Campaign Arc

Ba Jio was given the honour of leading the vanguard during the Battle of Hango. He was fighting Shun Sui Ju, who was able to stop his tribe from gaining an significant advantage by employing his different strategies.

Physical Abilities

Master Swordsman: Bajio is extremely proficient in the use of his dual swords, which he uses for swift and seemingly casual attacks against his opponents, something that emphasizes his stoic nature. Even as a child, he was so strong, that was capable of killing multiple grown men and was to able break Yo Tan Wa's mask in their first encounter. 

Immense Strength: Bajio possess an enormous amount of strength, which was first demonstrated when he broke the neck of one Sa Ji's soldiers with a simple kick and unleashed his berserk-like strength during his fight with Rankai. He later kicked and knocked over four rows of armored Zhao soldiers with shields during the siege of Retsubi and jumped clear across a canyon in a single leap while carrying Yo Tan Wa.

Berserker Rage State: Being a deadly warrior in his natural state, his primal "Berserker-like Rage" increases his already great abilities even further, gifting him with an unpredictable fighting pattern and dexterity to match, even using his bare hands to tear up wounds. Even more impressive however is the fact, that he was the only one mentioned who was able to break Yo Tan Wa's Mask, whose strength is considered to be amongst the greatest of the mountain folk. It is also notable, that he's one of the few characters in the series with an Alpha status for his strength.

Leadership

Bajio is a decent leader, and he personally leads his men into battlefields from the front.
