Ba Fuu Ji is seen accompanying Ri Boku, his father, and the rest of the Ri Boku Army as they leave Seika to retake his post as commander-in-chief of Zhao's army.
Zhao's Retaliation Arc[]
Ba Fuu Ji is seen along with other Zhao officers in the war council right before the start of Battle of Gian. Soon after, he joins his father and wishes him good luck before heading for battle. After some talk with other Zhao generals and commander, he leaves for the front. The next time Ba Fuu Ji is seen is during the ambush set by the Kan Ki Army in order to kill Ri Boku. There, along with Fu Tei, he saves his lord's life while killing some of Kan Ki's soldiers. After Fu Tei and Rin Gyoku's clash, he strikes Rin Gyoku with a powerful strike from his sword and casuse the Qin general to drop one of his blades before he could deliver a killing blow, he is shot at by Koku'Ou but blocks the arrow with his arm with the arrow piercing through it. Right after that, he is attacked by Rin Gyoku, but he is able to block the attack and gets pushed away. Then, he puts his horse back in place, with his injured arm, surprising Koku'Ou. She then yells at Rin Gyoku that Ba Fuu Ji couldn't be left alive.
Then, he calmly removes the arrows from his forearm and starts reassuring the troops by saying that the Ganmon soldiers who are present here will fight tooth and nail to protect Ri Boku and that more troops are coming to save them. He then says that he'll fight Zenou. Soon after Riboku gets hit by Kanki, Ba Fuu Ji orders his soldiers to go save Ri Boku. He then goes to fight Zenou, and injures him, but gets violently hit by Zenou, wich sends him on the ground and wounds his left arm. But, far from being discouraged, he simply says that it will make his job as shielding Ri Boku easier and remobilize the soldiers and Ganmon all around his lord. He then starts killing bandit soldiers one after another and delivers a speech about the strength that comes from the heart while slicing Kan Ki soldiers until the arrival of Jyou Ka Ryuu's and Ko Haku Kou's reinforcements.
After the saving, he gets back on a horse, and stands at Ri Boku's sides. During his lord's last discussion with Kanki, he senses that something is wrong, and tries to avert Ri Boku, by saying that they should put an end to the talk that lasted long enough. After Kanki's death, he spots Na Ki advancing to Ri Boku, and signals it, allowing soldiers to kill the already wounded Na Ki. When Ko Haku's soldiers were angry not to be allowed to rip off Kanki's body, he steps forward, warning them without a word not to do anything funny.
